The potato market is by no means dead, even though the price level of potato is still very low. Exports to West Africa, Caucasus region, Far East and Middle East have lowered the stocks very fast. Russian food safety authority Rosselkhoznadzor has informed that about 18 000 tons of German and 13 000 tons of Dutch seed potato will be allowed to import to the Russian Federation during the spring. Finnish newspaper Maaseudun Tulevaisuus has today published news about ongoing negotiations between Finland and Russia about exports of ware potato to Russia. Finland has received permission from the EU commission to agree about a visit of Russian inspectors to Finland, says minister of agriculture Petteri Orpo according to Maaseudun Tulevaisuus.
