Rapid International Growth as the Goal
The CEO of Luonnosta Finland Oy, a company specializing in trading of fresh produce, is changing. Marko Niskanen, who has previously served on the company’s Board of Directors, has been appointed as the new CEO, succeeding Antti Kuusisto, who has left the company.
“The change in operational management is due to differing views on the company’s growth, development, and internationalization. The change will lead to a reorganization of responsibilities, and we will communicate further details later. We aim to manage any potential disruptions caused by the changes as effectively as possible,” says Pekka T. Saavalainen, Chairman of the Board of Luonnosta Finland Oy.
Luonnosta Finland Oy has subsidiaries in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, and a company is currently being established in France. The Luonnosta Group engages in domestic and international trading of fresh produce, primarily potatoes and root vegetables, across Europe. The company has customers and suppliers in more than ten European countries. Luonnosta sources the products it trades mainly from farmers, farmers’ cooperatives, and other organizations. The products are sold to wholesalers and industrial food processors.
The business has developed strongly: over the past five years, sales have more than tripled, and the Luonnosta Group has reached a revenue level of EUR 20 million.
“We have grown profitably and are now investing heavily in rapid internationalization. Our goal is to triple revenue again from the current level by 2030, as we can operate agilely and profitably in markets dominated by large international trading companies,” Eero Pisilä, the principal owner of Luonnosta’s parent company, describes.
“Our expanding network, strong data expertise, and utilization of artificial intelligence enable rapid and sustainable growth. We are currently seeking new talent to support our future growth, and the company’s stable financial position provides a strong foundation for this,” Chairman Saavalainen emphasizes.
Luonnosta Finland Oy is a subsidiary of the investment and development company Agrofood Impact Oy. In addition, the company is owned by Finnish farmers.
